it's in the seafoam

Ahhhhh!  I'm done!  Well at least until my exam on the 27th.  Yep, one exam, and it's half a month away.  Cruelty.  I started my placement today and I wanted to dress for spring even though the temperature is not anywhere near where it should be.  I got home much later than I normally would and barked at Aron to take photos of me.  Hence why they are dark, blurry, and generally terrible.  Sorry.  I promise better work over the weekend.

Shoes, Seychelles @ Winners, $?. Canvas tote, Dollarama, $2.

Coat, F21 on clearance, $20?

Skirt, XOXO, bought it at least 8 years ago $no idea.  Tank, Aritzia, $25.
Belt, H&M, $14. Cardigan, F21, $17.
Aron did not want his photo taken today.  Laaaame!

I am in lockdown until this paper is submitted late tonight. Wish me luck. I'll be wearing something bright and celebratory on Thursday - for sure! Keep on followin'... xo Jenn

it's a... firetrap

Last week of class.  Of my whole degree!  I may be a (fashion) slacker this week, or maybe not.  Today I didn't slack: today, the shoes determined the outfit.  I have been dying to wear them and the weather made them completely doable.  I am so sleepy and full of sushi right now.  Adding photos and off to dreamland, stat.

Coat, Buffalo @ The Bay on clearance, $70?. Cami, Guess, $gift from dad.
Cargo-style crops, Esprit, $80.  Belt, H&M, $15. White shirt, H&M, $14.
Necklace, $gift from Aron's mom. Shades, Anne Klein @ Winners, $24.

Watch, Burberry, $gift from Aron. Wooden bracelet, Cuban beach vendor, $5.

Favouritist red shoes (starting to show wear, boo), Firetrap @ Balisi, $100?

I am gradually working up the nerve to take the tripod outside - promise.  You suburbanite girls at least have some space.  There are people everywhere here, especially in our neighbourhood.  And there is tons of construction going on.  The last thing I need - an audience of construction dudes.  Not to contribute to stereotypes or anything... but... but...

spring + black

So the Daily Fashionista first inspired me to wear something black, regardless of my inclination to pull out items in white, lilac, yellow or florals.  Then I saw Tieka from Selective Potential wearing black tights with a pair of shoes I already own - and knew it had to be done.

Skirt, AA, $50. Blouse, UO, approx. $35? 'Hose, The Bay, $7.

Gemini necklace, my grandfather's.
Lipstick, too lazy to get up and look at the colour name, L'Oréal, $8.

Ok so the ice cream maker is in focus instead of me.
It appears I now need to purchase a wireless remote.
And to get over my fear of taking pictures outside where
the neighbours might judge me.

Shoes, UO, approx. $60.

never say necklace

Ok, so, forever I have avoided accessories - saying it's just "not my style" - but not anymore.  I was inspired by Kendi's necklace - because I love it so much - and I literally have a negative bank account right now so instead of purchasing it, I threw on the first three necklaces in my existing pile of jewellery that looked like they might match. And yes you did see one of these yesterday.  That was my warm-up.

I can't say I'm a fan of insects on my jewellery, but I *am* experimenting.
Shortest necklace, $gift from Aron's mom. Butterfly necklace, some random shop
on Queen St. that shut down long ago, $17. Remaining necklace, F21, $10.
Stila lip stain in Poppy, $34.

Yoga Jeans!  They are the only brand that fits over my thunder..errr, runner's thighs
and aren't four sizes too big in the waist at the same time.  Got these for $25 off!
It was the only colour on sale.  Acid wash grey isn't so popular I guess.
Good news for me!

Cardigan, F21, $22. Tank, Club Monaco, $30. Bag, Roots, $105 on sale.
Shoes, Aldo, approx. $60.

These shoes I have a love/hate relationship with.  I think they look
pretty cute in the photos here, but I think they might be a half size too small,
they offer absolutely no support, and they are from Aldo - the worst place on earth.
What do you think?

brrr, neutrals

Ok seriously, what is up with this weather.  I know, I'm Canadian, suck it up, but come on.  I wanted to put on something light and springy but instead was feeling like something warm and cozy so settled on this light coloured, neutral-y cozy ensemble.  I admit, I was feeling lazy and crabby as well.

Dress, Club Monaco, approx $150 (got it 30% off). Belt, H&M, $10.
Leggings, H&M, $10. Necklace, jewellery store on Queen St. that closed
down long ago, $15. Bag, Roots, $105 (on sale, $25 off).

Yes, that is my new remote.  Yes, I am new.
And I didn't want to wear my boots inside so they are missing but they are brown and heeled, by Blowfish.  And if I wasn't so lazy and crabby I'd find a link but instead I am going to bed!  Night night.  xo

remotely fashionable

First of all I just want to say how much I appreciate all of you out there that post every day.  This is my first post since last Thursday and I don't even know how you find the time to do it—but you are all my heroes.  So here goes, on a freezing and deceptively sunny Tuesday.

This photo alerted me to the fact that my tights might just be a *little* too weathered.
Coat, Soia & Kyo, three seasons old from Winners and needs replacing. :(
Boots, Chinese Laundry, $gift from mom.

I love this bag (UO, $70 - men's section!).  Picked it up for the plane but quickly realized it fits my books, my Sigg bottle, my lunch AND all the other crap I carry around.  Win.  Scarf, Zara, $20? Rings, both my grandmother's.

Skirt, FCUK, on clearance $40. Cardigan, F21, $22.
Tank, H&M, $7. Necklace, I believe it's Foxy, but not sure,
$boughtitalongtimeago/cantremember.

LOOK I GOT A REMOTE!!!

ARON!  Come look at my remote - isn't it awesome?

Aron: "Yes I am going to steal it and take 400 photos and try to make out with you".
Me: "Ok!"
