thursday night, party time

Ok ok, two posts in just a few hours. I know - cccccccrrrrazy! But this is what I wore out last night. We went dancing at Revival.  Fun!

Dress, Tristan, gift from Aron. Belt, H&M, came free with a skirt.
Cardigan, H&M, approx. $30. Tights, Hue, $no idea.
Necklace, Absolutely No Clue (I may have picked it up at Outer Layer), approx. $30.
Bag (seen in first photo), H&M, $no idea (at least 4 years old).
Polish, Essie in "Shifting Power", or what I like to call "Gold", $7.

Darkened the day time eyeliner and added Stila lip stain in "Poppy".
Aron trying to hide behind my parent's retro tripod (indefinitely borrowed).  Nice try.

Oh and as for the shoes that didn't make it into the photos....  I had initially planned to wear these, but wore them for sushi before the club and found they were hurting a little.  Decided to go with these to ensure continuous hours of dancing.

ch-ch-ch-chilly

Really?  I can't take anymore.  We went for a Good Friday walk up to the market (will post pics soon!) and I almost cried on the walk back, as I utilized Aron as a wind shield. I mentioned in my Wednesday post that I was on a mission to find a warm springy outfit for Thursday.  Here's what I came up with:

Maxi dress, Lucky Brand, approx. $80. Sweater, Aritzia, approx. $45.
Belt, H&M, came free with a skirt. Booties, Blowfish, approx. $80? (last year).

This awkward pose is to show off how battered these booties are.
I love them.  I need to take them in to get cleaned and fixed so the
rolled over suede stops dragging on the ground.

I love you booties, but you are looking weathered!

I was feeling a little blah so I piled on some eyeliner.  It made me happy.

Bag, UO, approx. $70.

Just a note about my fashion credits.  You may see items from post to post credited with different prices.  When I write "approx." it is beacuse I really have no idea and I am guessing.  That being said, most of these items are quite old, so I'm hoping that those who read my blog understand that the sometimes high prices (that don't necessarily jive with my student budget) are not recent purchases.  Also, I am jobless as of the end of the day tomorrow it is now SERIOUS remixing time.  Oh summer, how I eagerly await you.

it's matzah time !

Hello, friends!  It's been a while, I'm sorry.  I haven't posted since last Friday - I worked Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - and with Passover festivities Monday and Tuesday, the time has just disappeared.  I think also that winter exhaustion is setting in as we are STILL in winter coats here in Toronto, and I am frustrated and bored with having to dress warmly.  Tomorrow it will be my mission to find a warm AND springy outfit to lift my spirits.

These photos are from Monday, post-seder:

Pants, GAP, $60? Tank, Club Monaco, $30.
Cardigan, F21, $27.  Flower, H&M, $5. Watch, Burberry, gift from Aron.

I went thrifting on Monday during the day and scored these glasses for $8 (that Aron hates...  but it's okay because I LOVE THEM).  I have always liked the look of dark frames and these are over the top.  My prescription is too strong, so I don't usually wear glasses because even with the ultra thin lenses I feel like I'm wearing bottle caps.  Not sexy time!

Anyway, I'll be including some of my new items over the next few days so watch out!  I scored 4 skirts, 2 tops, a cardigan and these glasses for a total of $32.  Amazing!

sunny sky... or something...

I wasn't going to post today.  It was a crazy one, and I didn't get home from work until about 10pm.  But I powered through...  tried out the flash... and.... ta-da!

Pants, Esprit, $70. Cardigan, F21, $17. Tshirt, Jacob, $14.
Belt, H&M, $15. Scarf, Zara, $30. Polish, Essie, $4.
Bag, UO, $70. Booties, Blowfish, $50 (sale).

I threw in this last photo because I love how my hair colour is fading out.  It's one of those things I didn't really notice until I saw a picture of it.  (Hence why blogs are so useful.)  It is also really interesting to see myself in a photo with no makeup on.  A little scary, but I'm okay.  I had a facial today and didn't want to mess up my freshly microdermed skin with the makeups.  I love the microderm.  If you haven't tried it yet, you should !

it's in the seafoam

Ahhhhh!  I'm done!  Well at least until my exam on the 27th.  Yep, one exam, and it's half a month away.  Cruelty.  I started my placement today and I wanted to dress for spring even though the temperature is not anywhere near where it should be.  I got home much later than I normally would and barked at Aron to take photos of me.  Hence why they are dark, blurry, and generally terrible.  Sorry.  I promise better work over the weekend.

Shoes, Seychelles @ Winners, $?. Canvas tote, Dollarama, $2.

Coat, F21 on clearance, $20?

Skirt, XOXO, bought it at least 8 years ago $no idea.  Tank, Aritzia, $25.
Belt, H&M, $14. Cardigan, F21, $17.
Aron did not want his photo taken today.  Laaaame!

it's a... firetrap

Last week of class.  Of my whole degree!  I may be a (fashion) slacker this week, or maybe not.  Today I didn't slack: today, the shoes determined the outfit.  I have been dying to wear them and the weather made them completely doable.  I am so sleepy and full of sushi right now.  Adding photos and off to dreamland, stat.

Coat, Buffalo @ The Bay on clearance, $70?. Cami, Guess, $gift from dad.
Cargo-style crops, Esprit, $80.  Belt, H&M, $15. White shirt, H&M, $14.
Necklace, $gift from Aron's mom. Shades, Anne Klein @ Winners, $24.

Watch, Burberry, $gift from Aron. Wooden bracelet, Cuban beach vendor, $5.

Favouritist red shoes (starting to show wear, boo), Firetrap @ Balisi, $100?

I am gradually working up the nerve to take the tripod outside - promise.  You suburbanite girls at least have some space.  There are people everywhere here, especially in our neighbourhood.  And there is tons of construction going on.  The last thing I need - an audience of construction dudes.  Not to contribute to stereotypes or anything... but... but...
